Did anyone see the photo on page 66 of the new issue (November) of "Reptiles" magazine. The dead gator second from the right looks like it is missing large areas of pigment. Did someone kill a piebald alligator? Too bad if they did--and the skin would probably be worth less than a normal skin, there's irony.
Or maybe the skin was damaged by chemicals etc. I've heard snake skins can show similar spots if they are frostbitten and survive. But it looks pretty natural to me.
Anyone on this board know someone from the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife (who supplied the photo)?
