Picture and a Question

Here is Corky my male U.pietschmanni and the proud father to two and possibly more eggs. I just observed my geckos mating this mourning and was wondering how long it is from mating that they lay eggs. I was surprised at how violent the mating procedure was. I thought Uroplatus did not inflict a mating bite but my male first bit my females tail then her neck but he did not hold on to her neck the whole time and it looked very gentle.

well, i still havent noticed any actual mating between my trio of spinies, but im not so surprised at the thought of there being, to put it lightly, physicality between the sexes. i wouldnt term it aggression, because it would be weird to think of a species surviving with too much aggression associated with mating. i did notice however, with some chasing and tail-flipping, that mine have seemed to nip at each other too. i thought perhaps it was just a bit of territoriality. perhaps its a sign of better things to come!

looking, but what a cute face and eyes he has!
I like him, and the fact they blend so well is totally unbelievable.

Nature sure is Something!
