ups shipping info.

I have spent the better part of the day on the phone with ups. The results are they will not ship snakes. There is no way to become certified to ship snakes through them. If they know it is a snake they can not ship it. It doesn't matter if it's harmless or not. However when I asked the penelity for shipping a snake without telling them I was told they do not have a policy on that. I would be done at your at your risk. If anything happened to the snake during shipping they would not be held responsible. If any body has any info. on shipping PLEASE LET ME KNOW !
Thank Bryan

You can ship regular snakes and venomous too through Delta Dash for sure. I received one through Fed Ex, dont know if they have a policy or not.

I have run into the same problem with UPS. They will not ship snakes. I have run into a problem with Delta Dash too. To be a certified shipper, they want to come out and inspect you. I had a buddy do this a few years ago and he said, all they want to do it make sure you are half way legit. He told me it took 15mins and he was certified. Please keep in mind he is like me...a long time keeper that maintains a decent collection. I have 30. I recenty sent a snake to MN. I used UsAir Cargo, with little effort. They said pack it up right. 1) in a sack. 2) in a styrofoam padded box. Tell them it is a non-venomous snake , and no problem. and I say #3 next day air it. Dont' take chances with the weather. Drop your shippment off for the last flight out and its there at the airport PDQ. My package was there 5 hours later!!!
Now as for UPS......? Do it at your own risk. I have used UPS with great result. I send a llot of china and birthday presents....LOL. You can only insure the box for $100.00 If it gets lost...you might get $100.00. If it shows up dead...SOL.
Pack it right, get it out for next day delivery. UPS will even come to your house and pick it up. Just some food for thought.

There was some discussion awhile back on the shipping forum about FedEx certifying reptile shippers now. I called the Animal Desk, like their website says, and was directed to the local manager. I haven't made it over there yet. Good luck.

I spoke with UPS, DHL, & FEDEX all told me they could not ship snakes all with the same result. I have now applied with Delta Dash to be a verified shipper filled out the form now just waiting to be inspected.
Thanks,Bryan
