It would help to know how small is small and which type of striped racer or at least what State it was found in. Racers like heat and things that move fast. My hot spot is 115 degrees but cool spot is always under 80. A plastic bush to hide in is highly sugested. Once all these things are in order and snake is left alone for a few days they find small frogs hard to pass up.

When in doubt.....Lizard it! Most racers I have kept love the taste of fresh lizard (alive). They are sight hunters (that sounds familiar(lol)) so the stimulation of a moving lizard is usually all it takes.
