Cleaning a boaphile???

mbleek448 Aug 31, 2004 09:30 PM

HI,
I've been cleaning with vinegar and water, but today I mixed some apple cider vinegar also. I was just wondering if that was safe. Thanks Marshall

Why?????? That sounds harsh to me. Hot water and a mild soap. Then rinse it. It has worked for me for years.
Just my deal.

I've always used a mixture of approximately
5% bleach, 5% rubbing alcohol, 90% water.
Worked for years, never a problem, and definately no vinegar smell!
I personally would not use vinegar.

Just my $.02

Thanks, Joe Rollo - BciJoe

I consider the bleach as simply a disinfectant and the alcohol as more of a cleanser. It also helps mask the odor and dry quicker with less odor overall, in my opinion.
I may have not been able to clean something at one time or another with just the bleach, and to be effective, I didn't want to use to much, so I added the alcohol which helped, again, in my opinion.

Again I use extremely little of both with lots of water and it has been doing the trick for several years now.

I'm pretty sure bleach and alcohol mixed produces choline gas.. very toxic. Probably harmless in an aquious solution but I wouldn't mix them directly. I'm still thinking about the hogg, Joe.
