Humidity

Generic PacMan question . . .

I have bed-a-beast for substrate. How moist is good, how moist is too moist? Is it better for substrate to be pretty much dry and let the frog go into its water container for moisture and get misted, or to keep the substrate damp (assuming NOT swampy).
So far, so good, but I wanted to check as I recently switched to bed-a-beast.

I like to keep my substrate where it is damp on the bottom but dry on top, at least somewhat dry anyway. This way the frog will go soak and urinate/defecate in its bowl and not in the substrate. The substrate still needs to be changed every month or so.
