Not cool Sami

Sami, Herping is a hobby but not one to be handled "As one sees fit!" These animals have a certain way of living properly and your "choice" may not be what they need. On 2 occasions you gave advice to another that was incorrect. If you have a ventilation problem, you don't fix it by creating a humidity problem as well. As far as shipping, telling someone to mislable a package has nothing to do with double or triple packaging you parcel. It has to do with illegal shipping. Rob was not trying to "get" you, merely assist another who is less knowledgable in the field. Your advice could have potentially created more problems. Care of herps is not a matter of preference it's a science. There is a right and a wrong way. That's why they're called "care sheets", not opinion sheets. You are correct that no one should be afraid to post here but posting bad info could kill an animal. If you post bad info and someone else corrects you, especially someone as educated in the field as Rob who has always been there for us, you should maybe do more homework and if you must, prove your case with facts. If unable, an appology for giving bad info is more in order than name calling. Basically what you have done, as proven by another posters reply to Rob, is made your own advice null and void. The one who asked the question has replied to Rob with gratitude, others have backed him up, and you called him names. Not cool man! You were out of line on this one.

I am by no means a "burm expert" but I do know that burms must be kept at a good humidity AND a well ventilated cage just as Rob had mentioned in order to prevent an RI from ever occuring and to also fix any animals rescued with RI or our own pets that fell short of the gradients or for whatever reason got an RI.

Please do realize that this IS a forum for learning and educating. Otherwise, people like Rob would never be on her wasting his time. It's far better to just assume no one has harassed you and they are merely trying to continue educating you rather than starting up the flame wars and name calling.

That's how these forums become dead...when there's too much bickering and no learning going on, everyone stops coming around.

Respectfully my .02
