Hello,

I am new to this forum and relatively new to the snake hobby as well. Yesterday I traded a Halloween Phase Tree Boa for a baby High Yellow Jungle Carpet Python. My other snake is a baby yellow anaconda. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible about carpets through this forum.

I have one question - I am told that pure diamond pythons are diffcult to find and that the ones I see are more likely Diamond/Jungle crosses. Is this true? I am interested in getting a pure diamond so am concerned. Can anyone recommend a good source for a pure diamond?

First off, welcome. A yellow anaconda and an ATB as your first snakes? You're daring

I'm somewhat out of the morelia loop these days, but I'm still somewhat familiar with what's out there for sale.

Pure diamonds are pretty rare for a few reasons. It's rare today to find a diamond/jungle cross advertised/sold as a pure diamond, simply because the offspring don't look very similar.

A pure diamond will run you $450 for a juvie, $1k for an adult, and will be very easy to distinguish from a cross.

Adam Willich, Matt Turner, and a few others were once producers of diamonds I believe, and if they are no longer breeding them, I'm fairly sure they can point you in the right direction.

Also, try www.moreliapythons.com, most of the experienced keepers that once frequented this forum spend much of their time on that site now.

Good luck to you and welcome to our addiction.
