Looks like anyone between the southern tip of Florida toward North Carolina are in this one's path. Over twice the width of Charlie with the possibility of reaching a category 5. Charlie by the time it made it's way to Daytona was down to a category 1. Many unfortunately experienced first hand just how devastating the lowest rated category of strength could be.

Good chance of a mandatory evacuation for us in Jacksonville if things do not change the path. No doubt though landfall for this lady will leave a huge scar wherever it may be.

Best regards to all facing this behemoth of a storm.

Paint a Bulls eye on my BUTT...I'm on the Palm Beach line which may be ground Zero if it doesn't take the predicted turn.......

out of enduring typhoons in Guam or earthquakes in California. I've felt the pleasure...err..displeasure of both and they suck as bad if not worse than hurricanes.

Of course you could always move to Texas...may I recommend the North Texas/Oklahoma area and then you can experience "Tornado Alley" the really big ones that wipe out everything

God's power is awesome!

What kind of substrate is that snake on? LOL!

I worry about the property damage and for those that can not leave the area. I would assume very devastating to lose your home to such a thing. Something I surely hope does not occur to us nor anyone else for that matter. We can always get up and go if needed but we can not bring our home with us. I truely doubt our house (at least the roof) could withstand such sustained winds for such an extended period of time as they are now expecting.

Here is an odd coincidence, all my breeder mice killed off their young today. At least 300 pinks from 5 different tubs. First time that ever happened here.

Best Regards, Rich Hebron

I can't imagine what a catagory 4 or 5 Hurricane could do. Just look what a little tropical strom did to the Richmond, Va area this past Monday. Tropical Storm Gaston was a dying storm when it was in South/North Carolina, then picked up some strength when it hit central Virginia, and just hung around, dumping 10-14 inchs of rain in a day on the metro area. No high winds or anthing, just major flooding of the likes this area has not seen in over fifty years. Cars swept away, countless major and minor roads underwater. It was Unreal.

Lloyd We are in Deerfield which means that unless it shifts it's path... I'm still waitng for that northward turn. looks like we both are going to have fun.

To those of you who have speculated. I drove relief trucks into Andrew's damage zone. Think big bomb . I saw CBS buildings chopped off at 4' above the ground in Florida city. Forrests were mowed flat. The danger in these storms (like Charley) is the tornadoes imbedded within. You can brag about your western tornadoes and they deserve it, but this is possibly 24 hours of winds and rain possibly as high as 150 mph in the ground Zero area.

Good luck my fellow Floridians,

Frank

Looks like at this point we scored a miss.....

No I never went to Stetson. At that time I was first-in the Navy and then I went to B.C.C and to Palm Beach Jr.

Though I have heard of you from somewhere.

So I'm in the lucky 10% who had power,TV, phones, and internet throughout the whole damn storm and yesterday as well.

So today my cable is out!! Some idiot must have cut it clearing a leaning tree or fence.
