I have an oportunity to purchase 2 C.B. baby trachys. As these are the only two available anywhere in the world, I have nothing to base thier value on. What can i expect to pay for them. I know that they are an expensive gecko but can anyone give me a little input as to what they might be worth. Any and all help would be much appreciated. The impression I got was that if I had to ask it was to much. I know that i can afford them i would just like to know what i can expect to pay.
Thanks again.

I heard that a pair went for $4K a while back, but the market is funny on rare stuff like that. With something that rare, you can pick your selling price and just wait for the right guy to come along. I guess it all boils down to how bad they want to sell them.

I remember seeing a couple available last year and the people selling them were asking $1500 for babys as far as I know.

Another thing to consider is what you are going to do with them if you get them. If you want the experience of owning a very rare animal and the fun that goes along with trying to breed them that is fine but over time prices fall and your investment vanishes. If you want to breed and sell, at those prices, how many folks are willing to pay that much $$$. And if you end up with two that are the same sex, finding a mate is a problem as is selling off the extra animal. Trach's will probably hold prices unlike the nose dive cresteds have taken, but look at what is currently afoot in the price of Sara's and Chahouas. Leachy prices are still holding up since they are both problematic to breed and the demand is there based on size, temperment, new morphs and universal geckophile desire to own one. I personally do not know much about what a Trach is like to handle. I do think all of us would like to work with them, but few willing to pay the big $$$. Good luck, wish I had deeper pockets..

HI it is not true about them being the onlu two! I can show you someone in Ca that breeds them. Email me and i will let you know who it is. As for price just depends on how much you want to spend. He i think will ask $1,500 to 2,000 each?
