going to hold off on salv till i can provide a bigger cage...
gives me an idea though, think waters can live outside year round in AL? if provided with a closed in/covered heated area for winter? Bert Langerwerf at agama international keeps his tegus outside and i live close to him.
thanks

his tegus are a LOT more cold tolerant than a water would be. i would try my best and keep it inside.

from what i've heard and read, some Tegus actually hibernate so they are naturally more tollerant of cold weather.

Don't know where you live but it gets cold as hell at my house during the winter. Inside part of the year, outside the other part. Then you have to worriy about escapes, toads, snakes, cats , dogs, hawks and the worst critter to roam Alabama, the dreaded teenager.

related teenagers having relations on your property in Alabama? Is that a worry Scott? You know like them wandering on to your property?

thanks,

That was funny. Not a problem here at my house. We have girls living here and I have been seen picking them up from cheer and dance practice. What the "Boys" see is me sitting on the tailgate sharpening my battle axe or one of my swords.
I don't know why they don't have any boys coming over to see them. Hmmmm......

You wouldn't by any chance be in the SCA. You sound a lot like my husband. My girls had their own swords by the age of 8, and knew how to handle them. Around here it was, "My god, even the children are armed." Until recently, my husband referred to computers as, "Something to test your battle-axe on." LOL
I love blades of any sort, and have quite a collection.

Nope, not in the SCA. I collect midevil weapons.
I have a large viking battle axe, a scottish claymore, a roman short sword, a mace with 3 spiked balls, and a barbarain sword.
These are not your cheap wall decorations, I won't buy a weapon if it's not usable.

I understand; all ours are real, usable weapons, too. As a matter of fack, my husband made my favorite celtic leaf sword, and I've made a few knives in my time. Nice, useful hobby. And it does get the young men's attention when there are teenage girls in the house. Each of the girls also had a nasty little mace that my husband made for them, just the right size to break things. And I always carry a warhammer in my car. "What, this, officer? It's a fancy tire changing tool." LOL My husband was once in a car accident on the way to an event, with a station wagon full of swords, axes, spears and other medieval impliments of destruction. The police were amused. Confused, but amused.
