force feeding

mr_president Sep 01, 2004 10:13 PM

hi guys
i have an adult female beardy and she stopped eating a while back. (4 days ago) she has no interest in anything whatsoever. she hasnt been pooping (but theres nothing to impact her because shes not eating) today i tried force feeding her pellets and collard greens. she accepted both just fine. she ate a lot actually. aout a leaf the size of my hand and about 30-40 pellets. she will accept anything fed to her by force but wont eat anything if it is placed in her tank. her temp is 110 in basking spot 80 on the other side. carpet floor. i calci dusted the collard greens. what could be wrong with her?

thanks to all who reply

It could be some internal; parasites, virus, disease, etc.

First thing i'd do is bring in a sample of fresh(same day) poop to your vet and have him do a fecal test.

If nothing is detected you will have to bring him/her in to the vet for an exam and blood work, etc.

But I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. You may also want to look up brumation and see if maybe thats it.

Hope this pans out. Take care...

Ray
