Name-A-Snake

Now that she is eating, I've gone and named my little eastern LENORE. Yeah, between that and my screen name, guess which poem I really like...

For the rare and iridescent serpent whom I now name Lenore –
Nameless snake? No, nevermore.

And the Serpent, never winking, still is slinking, still is slinking
Through the shaded pall of shadow, her Hunger demanding, “More!”
And her eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
And the mouse-lings can’t stop squealing for fear of this carnivore;
And these mice from out that shadow of her gullet full of gore
Shall be lifted – nevermore!

Nice touch with the poetic brush!

And my serpent ever slinking,
Still is sinking...still is sinking...
Nieth the liner of Astro-turf,
That I laid upon the floor...

A fun poem to run with. Hope your baby apreciates her pedigree!

Yeah, it is a fun poem to play with.

Man, I fed her yesturday, and while she had gained the indigo appitite on the feeding before, she now showed the indigo feeding response I've heard so much about.

I dumped in four mouse pinkies and, I kid not, before one of them landed off its first bounce, half her body flew out of her hide and grabbed the pinkie mid flight and was back in her hide before I could even get my hands out of the cage. Wow. I'd never seen a feeding response like that...and from my meek little hatchling.

I'll have to be more careful now...

But she did eat all four of them and all unscented.
