red incandecent mapls are night heating would affect light cycle?

ritamcfarsons Sep 02, 2004 06:05 AM

this year i'm going to breed my boas and so i wan to be carefull with light. i have never brumated them before and so have had 15 hours of light a day with a normal incandecent lamp and heat matt during the day, and heat matt retained heat during the night.

however this year i want to lower the temps and reduce light hours so i have to provide a night heat source cos the raeitned heat with not last the whole night and the heat mats cannot heat the whole environment unless they are very hot.

i live ouside the usa and ceramic heat emitters are not easy to get. would a red incadecent lamp on thermostate going on and off at night to regulate the heat affect their light cycle??
