Taking the plunge

I'm seriously considering purchasing a condro. My question is on quality of animals. My options are purchase from a petstore 300-350 dollar price range. I assume at these prices they are farmed. Option two is purchase from a breeder 500 dollars and up. My thought is at that price I could but 2 farmed ones, but are they feeding, acclimated, and/or parasite free. Any and all reading this please respond as I am still open on a decision. I'm just weighing the pros/cons of the options available. Also, I plan on going to the show in chicago oct. 9-10, what could I expect to pay for a cbb. from a breeder at a show like this?
Thanx, Clint.
