commercial food for hurricane

debs1018 Sep 02, 2004 01:24 PM

PLEASE HELP... We may be getting hit by hurricane Frances and I had to pick up commercial food. I can't find info on Exo-Terra juvenile iguana food. This is all they had except for the ones that had animal protein. Has anyone ever used this? DO you know if it would be alright for them for a few days?

Should be fine for a few days. Remember to soak it in water before you feed it. Bottled water is soething you will have I am sure so it should be fine to serve for a couple days

It will do for a couple of days. Iguanas can also have hibiscus leaves. Greens will be hard to find for a couple of days, but they will appear. Some stores have generators and will be up and running soon afterwards. We had one down for a week. I realize that Florida is getting hit real bad and it will be a month till things get back to normal in some areas.

Romane Lettuce will even be ok till the stores start to stock again. wheat bread, also.

Good Luck.

I've currently got 3 extra igs (Sam-N-Ellas green kids) for this hurricane, weve got canned fruits (packed in water) cantelope, carrots, bell pepper, wild hibiscus leaves/flowers, and collard greens, plums, some apple, etc. The carrots and collards are refridgerated, hopefully we can use them up before we lose power. In addition to food and water for the igs (and hedgies, birds, turtles, ferrets who are camped out in the animal room here in the building) weve got lots of towels, carpet cleaner, newspaper, caging for almost everybody (boris and zephyr are out) betadine (mainly for ME, Boris is BIG!) etc.

We lost power in Iabelle. We do have a generator that will run the refrigerator and lizard lights.
