It has been 56 days since these Great Basin Gopher snake eggs were laid. 12 eggs were originally laid, and three of them went bad early on, and two more a couple of weeks later. Of the seven remaining, two of them have fully emerged, and I expect the others will follow shorlty. They seem to be doing fine, and have struck at me a few times while I was moving them.
I was wondering if females differ from males in any way at birht, because I plan on keeping only one or two, and I would like to have a male. If anyone knows a way of determining sex, besides probing, I would greatly appreciate advice.
Here is a picture of the first one hatching.
