Should my light be over the water dish or the other side? I have heard both and thought maybe that could be my problem. Thanks in advacne you guys are a huge help.

if u put the light over the water it will warm the water up and also it will evaporate the water keeping humdity up (meaning u might not need to spray the viv so much)
to be honest i dont think it will make a huge amount of difference. i dont use any heat source cos its in the room with all my other reptiles and fish so its constantly warm in there. peronsonally i would try it over the water 1st, get a good thermometer (digital ones are easy to use and very accurate) and monitor the water temps and the air temps under the light, if its not getting to hot it will be fine
maybe someone with hand on experience of this will comment further tho.......
