Wont Drink Water

johndoe10688 Sep 02, 2004 09:00 PM

I have had my frilled for a little over a year now. I have never seen him drink, so every 1-2 a spray him w a squirt bottle directly into his mouth and he drinks. Last week i just figured....if he's thirsty enough he'll drink on his own. Well after a few days he kept burrying himself and not acting normal. I continued to spray him like 2-3 times a day and in 2 days he was back to hisown self. So i was wondering what i should do to get him to drink on his own. Thanks!

Do you have a large water dish in the cage?... large enough for him/her to lay in? I've only seen mine drinking from their dish early in the morning. Moving water helps them recognize it too... but mine all seem to know where their dish is.

They love to lay in it and do drink out of it... but usually only come down to drink/soak when nobody's around. If you have a large dish in the cage, your frilled is probably drinking when you're not around.

...what I meant by moving water is a waterfall or bubbler bowl.
