Do atbs need hide boxes?

Hide boxes are not required but I think amazons like them and will often use them if offered. I also believe an elevated hidebox placed several inches under the heat source in a large cage is a very good idea for breeding pairs! You'll still see them in and out of it. I offer them an elevated drinking cup as well and often they extend out of the hidebox hole to drink or will lay on top of the box to bask,etc..

IMO everything benefits from a hidebox. It give since of security and a place to get away from everything. You sometimes can even tell that they are "happier" from their behavior after adding the hidebox.

I forgot to add that not every animal might not utilize a hidebox set on the floor (emeralds for one)so you have to improvise using plants to make a "natural" hide area, etc.

Thank you for your feed back. I was just curious because my ball python does not use hers and I know that they usualy do. I am sure that my atb will appreciate it. So far he uses it to sit on but he will probably make use of it soon. Thanx!
