HELP!! Is my pacman dying or hibernating?

repaddict Sep 02, 2004 10:16 PM

He was eating great then his last feeding a few says ago he only ate a few crickets but not like usual. I didn't think nothing of it at the time, just thought he wasn't to hungry but I knew it wasn't like him to turn down food. Then in the next few days he kind of look like he dried out even though I was still spaying him. Today his eyes look glued shut and he's just stiff looking. I got worried and moved him and he responded and even made some little noises but he didn't open his eyes or move very much. What should I do? Is he hibernating? Should I put him in his water bowl? Please help I'd hate to see him die, he is my first pacman and my favorite.

sounds very much like he is trying to brumate, they will exude a muscus around there bodies and shut there eyes (im not sure if they always do this or only sometimes, but it is know when brumating for their eyes to close). he wont move around when in this stage and by moving him/putting him in water bowl u will only stress it out.

try reading some online care sheets , this will explain brunation and the signs to look for (should really know this before taking on a pac man as they DO brumate for no reason at times) if ur still worried about it take it to a specialist herp vet

if u could maybe post a pic up someone maybe able to tell u if it looks like its brumating
