Bored with the setup already

kelsherps Sep 02, 2004 10:22 PM

I think Olina is bored with her setup already. It doesn't have much in it, and I have tons of space to put things there. She's not a climber, so that is out of the questions. I did rearrange things, but now it looks even more bare! What suggestions does anyone have? Just in case you guys forgot or don't know, her basic setup is on here. She doesn't like her moist hide at all, and spends 99% of her time in her rock hide thing. I'm ready to replace that so she has something more to do. I have been checking out pics of other people's setups, so I have a few ideas...Let me know!

You should make the humid hide so that she can actually hide in it.

I have a nice chunk of tree root that I disinfected and blasted all the loose particles off of. Then I wrapped a silk vine loosely around it. There is a nice natural hide underneath. It also helps hide the ugly margarine tub I use for a humid hide. the love it, and spend alot of time in there also I think they feel safe because the humid hide is nearby and they can get to it quickly if they choose. Anyway works for Dude and Liz and looks good too

I totally agree with Xelda. Make the humid hide darker. Put some black construction paper or something around it. She probably doesn't feel secure in it.

Ok guys, these are reptiles we are dealing with..... They do not get bored..... As much as we all like to humanize our pets they are not like us at all..... They run mostly on instinct.... They eat, sleep, breed and go to the "bathroom"..... They do not have the same brain functions as mamals..... They are actually rather primative and so is their level of brain power.... Lets get alittle real here.....
