Sunfox, sorry to break it to you but that big mali looks like a really old male 10

When the malis get really old they tend to lose their color. Also ive never seen a female mali that large. You should consider taking some oictures of its pores and posting them for people to look at.

Are you talking about this pic, because there are some mali's that don't get a lot of color. And her female could be a male mimic female, in that case, she probably will get as big as a male. I think she's got a male and female.

Here's sunfox's pic and under it is another pic of someone else's mali who is almost all black and is only about 4 years old.

If you look at Isis and look at the male on the bottom, you'll notice how big and round his cheeks are and hers are still relatively slender.

I have compared her to the male in the store and he is bigger than she is and has much bigger jowls. Plus, her surgery revealed that she is truly a female, she has oviducts and had aborted eggs in her body. There is no sign of any hemipenes. Pores in malis are not a good way to tell the sex because the two look very similar (unlike ornates or saharans). She is a male-mimic female, which is a female that for some reason or other, takes on the male coloration. This is very rare in wc specimens but seems to be a more common occurrence in cb ones. Also, Ra is only 2 years old (still young), she is a fully grown adult so the size difference might have thrown you off a bit.

Thanks for the concern though.

Ive just never seen a female so big and black before. And from what ive seent the females tend to have shorter wider tails. But i guess you cant argue with removed eggs.
