What's up with on and off feeding?

IMO Sep 03, 2004 12:53 AM

My 1 1/2 year old ball python took a sabatical from eating from January to March then started eating like crazy. In June it started eating rats for the first time and has been devouring medium sized rats about 1 per week. It put on weight after changing over to rats. Its 37 inches and about 900 grams. Feeding response was strong, barely got the rodent in the feeding cage and BAM!!! had it wrapped. Now, for the past 2 weeks, its refusing to eat, avoiding the food and looking for a way out of the feeding box. The temps and humidity are right, water fresh, cage clean, stays in hide box most of the time but will come out from time to time for a break. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing the on and off feeding this time of year. I didn't expect this behavior to start till December or January.

I'd like to know an answer to this myself...mine hasn't eaten in about 6 weeks.
