D. Vent help - feeding thin frogs

GJUK Sep 03, 2004 10:42 AM

well i did have a group of 3 D. Vents...

ive been away for 2 weeks on holiday and i left them to my mum to look after..

when i got back i noticed 2 of the 3 darts were very thin.

but after trying to rescue 1 from - was very thin after the 2 weeks, it stopped moving. i put it in suger water to try and give it a kick start but its dead.

ive put the other thin frog in suger water and now ive isolated it from the other d.vent in the tank - which, ist doing rather well!

im wondering do you recon it could be stress? or bullying?

im feeding the frogs normal size fruitflies

im ruling out tempreture / humidity as 1 frog is doing Very well.

maybe hes the only one that can deal with the food size ?

ive only got 2 vents left now i fear it might be 1 soon

It's pretty difficult to tell what happenned to your frogs, especially since you were gone for 2 weeks prior to their taking ill. It's possible that your mum did not give them the attention they needed, and it's just as possible that they had some bacterial or parasitic infection. Without a necropsy, you can't know.

I really haven't had a problem with vents bullying, but if food is scarce, that is always a possibility.
