is it supposed to look this way?

I just bought a fire bellied toad on Sat. The last couple days while he is swimming around in the water, I've noticed some sort of white substance coming off him, it sort of looks sticky. Is this normal shedding? If not, what is it?
Also, since I got him, he's gotten fat. I've been feeding him 4-5 very small crickets a day. I'm guessing that is too much. How much do you feed your fire bellied toads?
Thank you!

I have only seen my toads shed once, so I don't have much experience to draw from, but when my toads shed, they were rid of all of the "slime" by the next day. And they ate it... YUCK! Just watch to make sure they are eating and not lethargic or otherwise ill-looking. If it bothers you, you may want to help him by pulling the remaining pieces off for him, as long as it comes off easily. When my toad had a long piece hanging off his leg, he didn't mind me pulling it off. If it appears to be some sort of infection or parasites, I'd suggest seeking more professional or experienced help... I hope I've helped a little.

Thats stuff in your water is from the toxins in your firebellies skin, it cant hurt them but they don't like it when threre swimming, so cleen it often. And about the food thats way to much for one firebelly you need about 7 per week or so.

feed them 2-4 crickets 2-3 times a week and they will be fine.
