I've just skimmed through it.
It is a compilation of reptilian egg development from inception to hatching. Most of the litterature is natural history as derived from field studies.
I like the idea that it is put together by many authors in the field of herpetology.
There is 270 pages of text and about 60 pages of references.
All of the reptiles are covered. Where chelonians are concerned it's focus is mainly on the sea turtles, water turtles and, finally, tortoises.
The litterature is not real detailed but it seems to give you more than adequate information on each topic. If you would like to delve into the topics with any detail the reference list seems to be quite complete and up to date.
I think this is going to be another one of those classic references.
I don't think it is worth the price unless you are really into the technical aspect of the passion of keeping these critters.
As to discounts... don't hold your breath. Blackwell is notorious for it's high prices and no discount. This is why most book dealers do not carry the titles from this publisher unless specifically asked to.
