I just my RES hatchlings. One is very active and alert. The second is starting to become more active but doesn't come out of his shell as far. I am very excited about being a new owner. I have them soaking.

What size tank are you keeping them in? What kind of filtering and lighting have you chosen for them? What is thier diet like? And do they have a heater in their tank? How full of water do you keep your tank and do you have a pic of the basking spot?

Could be any number of things. Knowing their living conditions will definately help us determine what is going on with the shy one (or at least guess).

I literally got them today. About 30mins ago I introduced them to their tank which is a 29 gallon with a duetto filter, heater, plenty of rocks, live plants, and a turtle dock. They are about one inch in diameter. The shy one is becoming more and more active. I have a slimline light with the uva and uvb rays. I also have a red light to create heat for the basking area. I have some hatchling food, they started nipping at the plants. The shy one when I first recieved him hadn't opened his eyes, (shipped up) but I had them soaking for a while and now he seems ok. I am still open to any suggestions.

Here's the tank set-up. Sorry if it's not clear. I don't have the basking light set-up at the moment.
