Making Snake Stands

Has anyone tried to make their own snake stands before? I'm fiddeling with this one and a trip to the woods for thicker manzanita pieces is necessary, but it will be finished with indoor/outdoor carpet around the trunk and linoleum on the base followed by wheels for easy moving. It will hold up to a medium size snake, will have to get bigger pieces for the 5' BCI's etc. And all sharp edges smoothed out of course
