Stevie(noeyes)

I have been out of town for last 12 days. I had left my reptiles with friends (they have thier own) and when I got back last saturday I saw stevie had turn brown on his belly. he ate last saturday (a rat pup) and is eating a mouse right now. he acts normal, and seems to be ok.

Any ideas why he has turned brown?I have let him soak in warm warter, and looked him over real good.

Thanks for any help.

could have been the substrate... was he on wet bark ships or anthing? could be poop, if it wasnt cleaned up right away..and he crawled through it... im not really shure... but keep us updated.. also, maby scale rot..

there was some poop, I guess they were too busy to clean the cage, I had to clean it frist thing. I kinda thought if it was poop it would of come off with the bath.I know they had taken out the news paper I had in there, so I guess he pooped alot while he was there.

Just incase what are the signs of scale rot?I'v never had it before and realy don't know what to look for.

Thanks for all the help.

well, the scales will turn brown, and get worse adn worse, till the scales rot away... but it usualy doesnt happen all over, just in small spots. its would be caused by having to wet of a substrait.

thanks!!!

Like I said I have never had scale rot, and sure hope it's not, I will keep a close eye on him to be sure. If it gets worse I'll take him to my vet.

Thank you
