How old are females before they will breed???

I would like to get a female het albino and then a male the year prior to the female being ready. is this smart to do or what would you all suggest?

Females well fed CB need to be 3- 4 years to breed and males just under three years to breed- size and weight are primary determinants for females to produce fertilizable ova- eggs and males can be much more slender but of age.

hope this helps

Really, 3years for a male???? That doesn't seem right as I know males can easily bred at year.

Males can mate at a younger age and may have viable sperm at as early as 9-12 months of age, but i am under the impression that actual production of viable eggs with a cycled female is not very likely for animals under 2-1/2 years of age. If anyone has anectdotal stories or actual experience with python species actually reproducing with year old males, please let me know as this would be news to me and likely many people as well. The premise that yearling males could routinely breed seems contradictory to the idea that only the most fit will reproduce- it takes a fitter animal to reach 3-5 years of age than a lucky yearling-
I look forward to any responses-
