I needed a bigger rack in my quarentine closet, so I slapped this together in about 1/2 an hour. I am using red rope light for heat (and light), still need to put it on a timer.

I have never seen red rope light. Thats pretty neat looking.
I agree the red rope looks tight, i use the white rope light in back of my rack, you should leave it on all the time, so i use a timer. It's a really cool setup!

Hill does that rope light give off enough heat and can you regulate it?
I'm also curious as to how hot the rope light gets?

I just used the temp gun to get a temp. (actually it took 3 tries to get this pic because the flash kept blurring out the reading). I think the temp was originally 87.7 when I took it the 1st time, but it cooled to 85.something in the pic. I could put the rope light on a thermostat if I needed to but I have used rope light on some other racks and haven't needed to use the thermostat. The temp of the rope light (right on the plastic of the rope) is 105. I still need to get a timer though.

Very cool.
I like the rope light idea, where do you find it?

I got it at Lowe's, Home Depot also sells it. 18' length is probably aroud $10-15 (I got it for $5 on clearance).
hey, i have a quick question for you about your containers. the ones on the top shelf are the sterilite ones - i actually have those, but i don't like all the indents on them and how the bottom rises and falls. i'm looking for more square shaped ones like the ones you have on the lower shelves. did you get those at biglots too?? and if not where did you get them or what brand are they?
thanks so much!

I did get the square ones at big lots also. They are also sterilites...I bought them out as soon as I saw them! Hopefully they will be getting some more soon. I only use the ridged ones when all the others are being used or need cleaning, I don't really like them either. The square ones have slightly less floor space but are slightly taller.
