snakesnake Sep 04, 2004 06:25 PM

I just got back from a vacation in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and I would like to identify the following snake that I encoutered. It was about 3 feet long and skinny and it was all green, at first I tought it was just a garden hose. Could anyone help me?

There is a very good website here at Kingsnake that covers the Natural History of West Indies. The snake page is particularly informative.

Your snake was probably a species of Uromacer.
