New Ball Morph????

D Goudie Sep 04, 2004 07:38 PM

Has anyone out there seen ANYTHING like THIS before?? I'm not a Ball Python person but my buddy Chris McQuade (Gulf Coast Reptiles) produced this stunning creature this year, along with some solid black Ball Pythons. This baby appears to be some sort of paradox coloring to it.

Any comments????? Enjoy the long weekend

There were others that look exactly the same hatched out this year. I forget who hatched them though.

You should have your monitor checked out. That certainly does not look normal to me.

Isn't this one of those IMG balls? I remember a couple of people posting pictures of their snakes that started to look like this one after a shed. Was this snake born like this? Or did it turn that way after one of its sheds?

D Goudie Sep 04, 2004 10:10 PM

evidently it was hatched like this, BUT it's getting prettier with each shed, it's shed twice already. This kid will be 3 feet long in NO TIME the way Chris powerfeeds them puppies.......

Did somebody actually say it looks 'normal'????........ LMAO.....

& I though was "Ignunt" when it came to Ball Pythons....

Peace Out Bro.....

Damian Wyatt of TW International produced an entire clutch of them, and I forget who else produced them. Wyatt produced them from crossing two different lines of Axanthic though. VPI and a WC import they had. They were trying to see if the lines were compatable. Apparently the snakes were trying to figure that out themselves too! Good luck with that little fella though.

Paradox means something contraditory to the norm. An albino with black is contraditory. When a normal has some slight variations to the normal colors of ball pythons, I wouldn't call it a Paradox. It's cool looking, but I wouldn't call it a new morph, and I wouldn't call it a paradox.

I agree, I wouldn't call this a new Morph ... its a nice looking snake ..but until you have proven it out ...then and only then it becomes a new morph .... of course this being the herp industry, we have everyone claiming every non-standard snake as something new ...but to stick with conventional wisdom, grow it, breed it and if it reproduces ... then name it and make money ... have fun.
