Leopard gecko cage questions.

Lizarddude720 Sep 04, 2004 09:11 PM

Hey

Im going to be making a new cage for my leopard geckos in a 20l. I was wondering should i use play sand or the exo terra desert sand? Should I use the exo terra cricket feeder? Has anyone ever used it, is it as good as it sounds?

Thanks

you shouldn't use sand at all if you feed crickets. If you use sand you can only feed mealworms from a dish as feeding it any other feeder with sand would be stupid as it will ingest the sand. If you wan't something natural looking use a fake rock substrate (ask at bearded dragon forum) or use slate, remember a leos natural habitat IS NOT sandy they live on rocky outcroppings on a clay base.

Go to Home Depot or some other home improvment store and get some tile it works great and looks good. As for the cricket feeders not worth it jsut shake and bake and dump them in the tank.
