Question...

Crowley Jun 25, 2003 03:56 PM

Hi Guys... Today I took my mali out for some sun. I guess something spooked him and he took off. I chased after... finally caught him, but he smacked his chin into a cement block that was sitting outside... once I picked him up I noticed he had some blood around the opening of his mouth... I quickly brought him in and cleaned it the best I could. He wouldnt let me open his mouth... I dont know if its an interal injury or just a scratch on the outside. What do you guys think I should do... it doesnt appear to be bleeding anymore. Would this constitute for a trip to the vet?

Thanks
Crowley

You said outside of the mouth, right? Well you could just put some neosporne (sp?) WITHOUT the pain reliever on it.. if it's on the inside I suggest to take him to the vet.

Since your uro won't let you see inside his mouth, you may have to wait and see if he can still eat. If he's stopped eating, it may be a sign that there's internal damage. Plus, if he does eat, you might be able to get a quick peek inside while he's taking a bite. Hope it's not serious.
