basking area

nei Sep 05, 2004 12:30 AM

I've had my two RES for about 5 years, and even though I usually find something decent for them to bask on I still can't find exactly what I want: easy to get on, enough space for both to bask at the same time, something that doesn't take up swimming space.
What do you all use for basking in your turtle tanks, and what would you suggest? thanks!!

The new turtle dock by ZooMed is pretty cool, and the suction cups actually stay on for more than a day. Both my 5 inch turtles fit on it, and it slopes into the water so they climb in easily. The link is below.

they look pretty good. which size do you use? I saw some at a store, but they only had the small ones, and they weren't big enough, so I'm going to look somewhere else to see if they have the other sizes. I also measured my turtles shells today and their both about 7" long

With turtles that big you will probably need the large turtle dock. I got mine from BigAlsOnline.com they have great prices compared to pet stores.

The ZooMed Turtle Dock does work great. You might want to check on Ebay for some good deals. Good luck!

Heres my basking spot. Its a piece of plywood with flexible plastic screen from w@lm@rt crafts department. It takes up no swimming space whatsoever.
