Not again

Embrodak, my escape artist uro was at it again. Well, this time, it was none of his own doing. I put him in a Kritter Keeper to go outside for some natural sun, and my boyfriend picked the keeper up by the handles, and of course, the top popped off, and spilled my lizard on the ground. Well, he headed for the landscaping, then realized it was sunnier on the sidewalk, and ran that way. The sidewalk leads to the pool. He jumped in the shallow end, and initially sank. My boyfridn dove in after him. Then, the little bugger started swimming away from him! He was on top of the water, swimming with powerful strokes of the tail! Well, Tomm got him, I brought him and my other uro(who was safe in her carrier) inside and rinsed him off (luckily we use biological filtering, so theres almost no chlorine in the pool). H dried off and basked, then had a huge chunk of collard and some seed and went off in pursuit of his ladyfriend. There was more harm to my boufriend, who ripped his jean on the edge of the pool and managed to clock himself on the head on the way in.

So, my question is, how often do these guys encounter water in the wild? He really knew what to do.

oh my! that is a really funny story. i know it probably was not when it was happening but the thought of a uro swimming is too much. as much as i love helga she is certainly not known for her gracefulness. thanks for sharing, it will keep me smiling the rest of the night.
i hope your boyfriend is ok. it does sound like he got beat up.
