i am finishing up the paper work right now to get my license for an american alligator. i was thinking it would make more sense to get a chinese because of the smaller size. however since i live in ga the american gator is native and i would only need a wildlife permit. 60 bucks for one year. a chinese alligtor is classified as non native and therefore it is under the heading of potentially dangerous. so i would need a different permit which was something like 2,000 dollars. also i would need insurance which was another astronomical amount. so even though the american will get bigger it is cheaper than its smaller cousin.
