Well, I got my pair last night. Was an exciting night indeed. They are all setup in their rack and doing well. I shot a couple of quick pics before I racked them up. I can not wait to see them grow.

Red Phase Female

Black Phase Male

Congratulations. Nice looking pair. I can't wait to see mine grow as well. Keep us updated (I'm definitely interested in another person's experience with hatchlings).

Incidently, what's it been like keeping your "poor man's" indigo?

The Mexican Black King has been great to keep. Super tame and a great eater. My son loves him. I hope I didn't offend anyone by calling him a "poor man's indigo". I just heard them reffered to as that at a recent show. I think they call the black milk the same thing.

How thrilling that must be. Maybe someday I'll also know how it feels to set up my first pair of Indigo snakes. In the meantime, I, too, have a "poor-man's-indigo", a Mexican Black Kingsnake. My boy is fabulous too. He's the one that all the little boys in my neighborhood want to see and hold......but he's not an Indigo. Until that day arrives I'll keep on admiring all the pics on this forum and listening intently to the discussion and expert advice from the keepers here in this room. And maybe be just a little bit jealous......

this sounds like a mid-life crisis for herpers. just remove the word "indigo" from the quote above and replace it with the name of someone else's favorite sports car. has anyone plotted the age distribution of indigo owners?

No offense taken on my part. I almost went the poor man route myself (was this close to getting a black milk snake) but decided to go for the indigo.
