shell and skin shedding

i just bought two red ear slider (male and female) to put with my other female to set up a 1.2 breeding group. any way the two that i bought has alittle bit of skin shedding but mainly its it shell. its starrting to peel back and clear plates are peeling off. i will try to post a picture when i can figure it out (lol) any info would help.

what you're describing sounds like skin and scute shedding, which, if not too excessive, is a sign of growth. Like snakes shedding their skin when it's too small.

Conditions that can promote excessive shedding: overfeeding and abnormally high water temperature.

thanks i think their just growing because i feed them every other day pellets and a goldfish for each one or chicken or some kind of meat and vegies. the water temp. is around 74*F
