Anyone using the new 400 vision cage? ( 4'x26''x14'')

BobS Sep 05, 2004 11:34 PM

Could you tell me what you think of it and what kind of animal you keep in it? It seems like a good size for the price.

Height wise, is it tall enough for easy maintenance? Some plastic cages I've been checking out seem too low to me. I realize it makes more cages in a given space possible but what about veiwing and getting hold of some of the more nervous/active/unpredictable snakes. My neos allow you to reach in from above without going at them face to face so to speak. It's been a very long time since I've been bitten in the face and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'm also unwiiling to do that bottom cage on the floor thing anymore. If it is'nt easy to get to you tend not to service it as often as you should. Sorry for the length of the post. Thanks, I appreciate your time. Bob.

I would check with the Boa and Python people.

I think that they represent the majority of folks using that model cage and they may not frequent the cage forum.

I don't own one but I got a chance to see one in person. It is a Vision, just without any special mods.

I agree with you about cage access. It is a shame that Neos aren't manufactured anymore. That sloped design made it easy to reach into a cage with a grumpy snake and have plenty of room to maneuver. I also loved the metal racks - being able to pull out any cage without disturbing the rest, and being able to roll the whole rack of them out of the way when sweeping.

On a good note, the plastic that Vision uses is easy to clean, and as you know, the one-piece design makes for a very tough cage.

I Rrecently got the new vision 400 cage and I really like it. I keep my 5ft male green anaconda in it and he seems to like it as well. He is pretty nasty and I have no problems cleaning the cage at all. for the price its a great cage

I just bought one not too long ago. I am very happy with my purchase. I have only used glass or melamine in the past, but this cage is exceeding my expectations. I will be purchasing a few more real soon. Just hope the price doesn't change.

I have 3 vision 400 cages and 3 of moonstrucks 4ft'ers. They are both great cages and they both have their ups and downs. Moonstruck comes with a heat source and locking dual doors so you can make each one into two cages witha divider. So like them a little more.
