Hey, Wondering what to use as far as glass cleaner. Problem is the water here is hard....so there is alot of mineral deposits and build up from spraying glass for my blue spot timor.... ne advise and toxicity. would rather use something that don't need to remove animal and substrate(esspecially substrate romoval) Tried regular cleaners such as windex, etc... heard vinegar but unsure of ne ill effects to the monitor, or feeders.

The only good and safe cleaner you can use with out removing the animal or substrate if Chlorhexidine Disinfectant. I would not use any other cleaner without removing both the animal and substrate. You can buy the Chlorhexidine in gallon jugs and it is supposed to be diluted 1 ounce to a gallon. This stuff is also good for treating mouth rot, bacteria, fungi, ringworm and yeast. It can be used directly on the animal. It works as a good glass cleaner as long as you stay on top of it and do not allow the build up to get bad. I have given up on keeping all the glass clean and only worry about the front pane as I have too much foliage to rearrange to get to the other 3 sides. Additionaly I use one of those pressurized garden sprayers that you pump up instead of a spray bottle to mist down the cage. It allows me to put down a lot of water and keep most of it off the front glass.
