Sick Ball, something very strange happened

morg21227 Sep 06, 2004 08:03 AM

I took a Male Ball in rescue last night, and I cleaned him up, and his cage, he had not had water in weeks. Every time he drinks he raises his head up to swallow, like he is star gazing, and then last night, I had to take him out for a few why my wife did something to his cage, and brought up a whole bunch of water on my arm. It was clear but a little mucosy, any help would be appreciated

I once had a perfectly healthy bp do what you described when I picked him up. He was fine before and after and I just decided he'd had a big drink that had not settled. Never happened again.

I'd just avoid handling your boy, keep him on the humid side and provide a big enough water bowl that he can soak if he wants. If it were me I'd probably give him a few days to hydrate before offering food, then I'd offer a very small meal.

Good luck, Christy
