new borneo question

extensive Sep 06, 2004 09:11 AM

well i bought a borneo blood yesterday at the local reptile show. the guy i bought it from was a reputable breeder but not of bloods. he just got it in a trade and really didnt know much about it. i am just wondering how old she is. she is about 29" and a little skinny. i know it is pretty much impossible but at least some of you guys can guess. thanks.

I would guess that the borneo is probably 4-6 months it is kinda difficult becuase it seams that bloods kinda go through a "teenager" stage were they are not as full looking. even with heavy feeding the are not plump looking. if your concerned or it looks "real" thin get a fecal done it could have paasites. does it feed well for you? the picture below is of a black blood and is about 2-3 months if I remember correctly but you can't really see it real good but it was "thin" looking at the time. Their spine seems to stick out and their "weight" flattenss to the side I refere to this as the "gangly Teenager"

hmm not to disagree with Kevin but I would think it to be a bit older than that. My yearling at approximately 15 months is only a bit longer than that, and that is with proper feeding and shes a bit plump. If it was improperly fed or has parasites etc then it wouldn't grow as quickly so I would estimate about the same age as mine? Then again theres so many different variables as you know its hard to say, one guess is as good as the other.
