how often and what to feed a wild caught toad and more Q's..

cee4 Sep 06, 2004 12:28 PM

He is about an inch and a half long and quite fat. Ive been giving him small mealies and an occasional cricket. He is a very aggressive feeder and was grabbing the redwood substrate along with his food so I started feeding him on a dish and he knows that is where his/her food will be.BTW is there a way to sex a toad? Also will he want to hibernate this winter if he is kept in a warm house? So many questions for such a little toad...

I am new at this. Although I have done an awful lot of reading. Sexing is an imperfect science. You can usually tell by two things. Males will have larger forearms and they will also have more bumps on their back
