I have a pair of beautiful Okeetee's that are 2yrs old. This is the only pair of Cornsnakes that I have. The female is really large for a 2yr old and is a little bigger than her mate. My question concerns breeding. She is definitely large enough for breeding in the Spring but if I do will this stunt her growth? Most of her food will go into producing eggs and not available for her to reach her maximum size. I want the very best for this pair and don't want to compromise either of them if breeding would do that. What is the opinion of the folks on this forum? Will my girl continue to grow if I breed her? Or would this slow her physical growth in an obvious way?

I've been told it's a good idea to wait until the snakes are fully grown before breeding is attempted...if you power feed and grow them large or whatnot you will be doin stuff before their bodies are really ready to do so and it will decrease their breeding life and posibly their life altogether. It's kind of like a 14 y/o girl getting pregnant...her body can have babies but it isnt really ready for everything to come out and be fine (not even touching emotional here..doubt snakes are like that lol)
