Help me Identify this water snake please

digitalkitteh Sep 06, 2004 03:59 PM

Our neighbours were going to kill a little brown water snake, so I decided to keep him instead of letting them kill him. I know enough about snakes to know he's not dangerous, but I'd like to know exactly what type he is. I think he's a northern water snake, but not sure. He/she is at 16 inches right now, how much bigger can he get? Thanks for your time and help! -Crissy

Females can get up to 3.5 feet but males usually stay under 30".
