Calico?

Katt Sep 06, 2004 09:27 PM

What makes an amazon a calico amazon? Does anyone have examples of garden phase calicos? I have a male who appears to be a reguarly grey garden phase, however, he has these patches of metallic grey that are quite different from the grey of his body. When I first saw him I thought he had metallic spray paint on him. I would like to think he is a calico, but would rather make that designation with proper research into it. I will post a pic of him in a day or so so the rest of you can get an idea. Thank you.

No there really isn't. I'm not even sure if Calico has been proven to be genetic yet either.

Most people consider white speckled snakes calico, but I think snakes with a speckled or spray painted look can be called calico too, even without white.
