The Tail End of a Trivial Tragedy

NeoScales Sep 07, 2004 12:00 AM

Our long streak of luck ended tonight as I opened a Cresty cage. Apparently I spooked one of the adults, as I heard something scurrying about and I saw something flopping around.

This is what was flopping:

Icky...but interesting!

i had the same thing happen to me, i had a female out for holding, she was doing fine, very calm, then something spooked her and she jumped off and when i went to pick her up again she dropped her tail.

i was really bummed at first, but it healed nicely and it really doesnt look all that bad.

i do however, have to compliment your macro shots, they came out incredibly well.

dont sweat it too much, just think of the fact that most of the cresteds in the wild dont have tails.

looks like some strange sea creature with thise white points of flesh forming a star shape. Nice close up shots of the detached tail. Kind of cool looking too, not that I am going to go spook my mail so I can get a star nosed worm out of his tail LOL.
